DREAMS AND SECRETS PLAYA MUJERES - ALL-INCLUSIVE IN MEXICO

Dear clients, I wanted to share my experiences at Dreams Playa Mujeres and Secrets Playa Mujeres. As a travel consultant, Playa Mujeres is my top beach recommendation in the Cancun area, thanks to its consistently beautiful beaches and minimal sargassum. Both Dreams and Secrets, under the same parent company, offer a shared luxury experience but differ significantly in the vibes and amenities they provide... one has well, kids!, and the other does not :) but no matter where you stay, you can use facilities on both resorts if you are and adult. Dreams only if you are under 18.

I love Dreams brand, but not all Dreams properties are the same, so be careful with that - I toured many properties and some are more upscale, some are very very basic - remember I'm here to help with all those options!

Here's a brief rundown of our stay:

Beach: Gorgeous. The Dreams side offers palapas and lounge chairs, while Secrets has umbrellas. Both resorts have a separate section by the beach for Preferred Club guests (we need to book you room as a Preferred Club for you to have access to it) with beautiful cabanas. First come, first serve.

Rooms: Large, impeccably clean, and mostly comfortable, though my mattress could use an update. The kids room seemed to have a new mattress.

Property: Stunning and well-maintained with a variety of bars and beautiful pools. It was a bonus to access the adults-only Secrets side for more amenities like their beautiful pool, tennis court, and their gym is a lot better.

Activities: This was a mixed bag. The resort offers various sports facilities like pickleball and padel courts, but there's a lack of organized activities, which means less interaction with other guests. The watersports advertised as included were actually tip-based, which was disappointing (I don't mind tipping at all, but when I want and when I receive a good service. "Must tip" doesn't mean "included" IMO).

Food: The buffet was ok, but the à la carte restaurants at both Dreams and Secrets were exceptional, offering high-quality ingredients and delicious meals—a real treat for us foodies!

Drinks: Generally underwhelming at Dreams, with inconsistent quality across different bars. However, Secrets offered excellent drinks.

Vibe: Dreams is very relaxed and feels upscale - great for families that prefer a quieter environment. It is a SOLID resort, I will continue to sell it, just being sure it is not a super "on the go" family. The service was generally good but not outstanding. Secrets, being adults-only, naturally had a calmer, more refined atmosphere.

Overall Ratings:

Dreams: 8.5/10 (based on my personal experience with the activities. We are a family who loves tons of things happening and to try new things. The resort was definitely quiet for us lol. Other than that, I think it is a great resort.

If we were a family that just wanted to hang out by the pool/beach, I would give it a 9.5 (with drinks lacking somewhat). But food is also very important and they deliver!

Secrets: 9.5/10 (if you want to relax and enjoy good food, this is the place to be! It is an excellent choice if you’re seeking a serene, adults-only environment).

This review is just an overview, so feel free to reach out if you have specific questions or need more details. You know that I LOVE to match my clients with the perfect resort for them :-)

Travel brings me so much joy!  The memories created in different countries and among other cultures fill my soul. After traveling extensively over the last 15 years, I realized I wanted to encourage and help others take a step out of their comfort zone. So often, others would tell me they didn't even know where to begin so leave the stress and planning to me and start filling your soul!
